Amy Beckingham is a partner in the Hong Kong office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Corporate Department and Private Equity Practice. Ms. Beckingham specializes in public and private M&A and joint ventures, acting for private equity and other financial investor clients on transactions throughout Asia, across a wide range of industry sectors. She has also advised private equity clients on their IPO exits in a number of jurisdictions across Asia.

Prior to joining Latham, Ms. Beckingham worked in the Hong Kong and London offices of a Magic Circle law firm for more than 10 years. During that period, she spent time on secondment to the M&A team of Ferrovial in Madrid and in the infrastructure team at 3i in London.

Ms. Beckingham's recent experience includes advising:

  • Warburg Pincus on its joint venture with VinaCapital, to create a fully integrated hospitality platform including development, acquisitions, and operations across Southeast Asia
  • Macquarie Corporate Holdings on the acquisition by a consortium comprising China Resources and Macquarie of GenesisCare, an Australia-based operator of cancer and cardiovascular care centers
  • Warburg Pincus Asia LLC and Avic Trust as lead investors in the consortium acquisition of Singapore listed ARA Asset Management Ltd. a Singapore-based real estate fund manager for SGD1.7 billion; the other consortium members are JL Investment Group, The Straits Trading Company, and Cheung Kong Property Holdings
  • A consortium led by Warburg Pincus on its equity investment in GO-JEK, an Indonesia-based operator of a motorcycle taxi fleet and provider of delivery services
  • PT Matahari Department Store on its Block Trade of 58.358 million Ordinary Shares listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX)
  • Tesco plc on its US$6 billion sale of Homeplus to MBK Partners*
  • A Warburg Pincus portfolio company on a real estate joint venture in China*
  • Intercontinental Hotels Group on the US$938 million sale of the Intercontinental Hong Kong to a Gaw Capital led consortium*
  • CVC Capital Partners and HKBN Ltd. on HKBN’s US$870 million IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange*
  • OCBC on its US$5 billion acquisition of Wing Hang Bank Limited*
  • CVC on the leveraged buyout of The Executive Centre and its subsequent restructuring*
  • A Warburg Pincus led consortium on its initial and follow-on investments in Vincom Retail, the largest investment by international private equity into Vietnam*
  • Warburg Pincus Asia on the 2012 restructuring of the Titan Storage Group, which included the acquisition of the business out of liquidation and the subsequent sale to Guangdong Zhenrong Energy*
  • PepsiCo on its strategic alliance in China with Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corp, a Hong Kong-listed company and one of the largest food and beverage companies in China*
  • CVC Capital Partners and PT Matahari Department Store Tbk on the US$1.3 billion Indonesian offering of shares of PT Matahari Department Store*
