Guy "Jack" Mathews is an associate in the Litigation & Trial Department and a member of the firm's Environmental, Land & Resources Practice. 

Mr. Mathews’ practice focuses on toxic tort litigation, environmental regulation and compliance, transactional due diligence, and ESG. He has represented clients in a variety of complex environmental matters, including disputes concerning emerging contaminants, radioactive materials, remediation and cleanup costs, natural resource damages and restoration, and product liability under federal and state law. Mr. Mathews also advises sellers, lenders, and underwriters concerning environmental and contamination issues which may materially impact transactions, including with respect to the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and their state equivalents.

Prior to joining Latham full-time, Mr. Mathews was a summer associate in the New York office. He previously worked as a legal research intern at Demos and as a summer associate at a leading health care and employment law firm. While attending New York University School of Law, Mr. Mathews served on the executive committee of the Black Allied Law Students Association and the board of the Moot Court.
