Two Litigators Honored on Prestigious List of Top Women Lawyers in California

Vice Chair of the Latham’s Global Antitrust & Competition Practice Belinda Lee and Century City partner Laura Washington have been featured among California’s Top Women Lawyers for 2021, an annual list published by the Daily Journal, California’s legal newspaper of record. The list celebrates the top female attorneys who have made a significant, positive impact on the state.

Lee is a globally-recognized litigator helping technology companies successfully navigate price-fixing, monopolization, and private damages actions and investigations before courts and regulators throughout the US, Europe, and Asia. Two critical pillars of her practice are defeating the most challenging class certification battles (often in sprawling multidistrict litigation) and protecting her clients from criminal jeopardy in the face of intense investigatory scrutiny. In her profile, the Daily Journal described her successful defense of BMW in allegations of anticompetitive collusion as well as pro bono work representing nearly 100 Christian, Jewish, and Mandean refugees stranded in Austria by the Trump Administration’s 2016 “Muslim ban.”

She represents many high-profile clients in complex business disputes in the entertainment, media, and other sectors, with wide-ranging litigation experience that includes pre-litigation counseling, trial, and appellate work. She is currently active in leading several closely-watched cases connected to the #MeToo Movement, and continues to represent leading entertainment and media clients in litigation, internal investigations, and to manage crises responses.
