AmCham Singapore honors Latham for “conduct[ing] business in a way that creates both long-term economic and social value.”

Latham & Watkins was honored for exhibiting exemplary corporate citizenship at the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham)’s inaugural CARES Awards. According to AmCham, the national award program recognizes member organizations that “demonstrate an understanding of the linkages between business operations and society and that conduct business in a way that creates both long-term economic and social value.” Latham was among 30 recipients that were selected based on criteria related to strategy, sustainability, measurement and communication.

Held at the AmCham Singapore Annual General Meeting, the award ceremony highlighted Latham’s extensive pro bono and charitable efforts in the region. For instance, Latham was recognized for its pro bono partnerships with Banyan Sustainable Waste Management Solutions, an India-based recycling venture, and the global volunteer organization Points of Light. Latham’s “Spring Challenge” program — a firmwide physical activity competition through which lawyers and staff earn donations for local and global charities — was also cited as an example of how the firm gives back to the community.
