Latham Fintech Partners Receive Innovation Award from New York Law Journal

David Concannon, Yvette Valdez, and Stephen Wink were recognized for developing the Automated Convertible Note document generator that helps startups raise capital with customizable market standard terms and optional digital token provisions with ConsenSys.

David Concannon, Yvette Valdez, and Stephen Wink, partners in the New York office of Latham & Watkins, received the Innovation Award from the New York Law Journal (NYLJ), as part of the publication’s 2020 Professional Excellence Awards for their cutting-edge work in fintech. The NYLJ said that the award “recognizes creative and inspiring approaches and forward-thinking firms and individuals.”

Concannon, Valdez, and Wink collaborated with leading blockchain technology company ConsenSys, a firm client, to develop the Automated Convertible Note, a complimentary, OpenLaw-based document generator that helps startups raise capital with customizable market standard terms and optional digital token provisions. The online document generator builds in protections and much needed flexibility to navigate securities regulatory concerns in nascent token projects.
