Latham & Watkins Advises Crowdcube on US$13.5 Million Financing Round
Latham & Watkins advised Crowdcube, the largest startup fundraising platform in the UK, on its US$13.5 million fundraising round led by Circle, the owner and operator of SeedInvest – a leading startup fundraising platform in the US, alongside existing investors Balderton and Molten.
The investment will enable Crowdcube to accelerate its launch into emerging European markets, capitalizing on the recent regulation that provides uniform rules across Europe for investment-based and lending-based crowdfunding services related to business financing.
Part of the investment was made via USD Coin (USDC), the leading dollar digital currency powering always-on internet-native commerce and payments, which supports Crowdcube's goals to enable entrepreneurs to raise capital from their dedicated communities.
The Latham team was led by London corporate
partner Shing Lo, with associates Samantha Si and Ismay Brayne.
