Firm Recognized as 2020 Green Lease Leader

Latham has been selected as a 2020 Green Lease Leader by the Institute for Market Transformation and the US DOE’s Better Buildings Alliance. Launched in 2014, the Green Lease Leaders program sets standards for what constitutes a green lease in the United States, while recognizing landlords and tenants who modernize their leases to spur collaborative action on energy efficiency, cost-savings, air quality, and sustainability in buildings. The firm received gold-level recognition, the highest possible honor. 

The recognition highlights the firm’s overarching commitment to sustainable operations, including our sustainable corporate guidelines. In conjunction with the firm’s Global Real Estate Department, Latham Sustainability created a set of guidelines that apply across the firm’s office portfolio and are used to make decisions about site selection and real estate. These guidelines not only demonstrate the firm’s commitment to environmental stewardship but also ensure a reduction in the firm’s carbon footprint by decreasing energy consumption across its offices. In addition, we ask our landlords around the globe to complete a sustainability questionnaire that helps us understand what programs are already in place in our buildings as well as what opportunities we might have to help promote environmental stewardship in the jurisdictions where we operate.
