California Tech Work Earns Multiple Accolades

Latham & Watkins has earned a suite of recognitions for cutting-edge technology work as part of The Recorder’s Tech & Innovation Awards.

Latham was named a finalist in the Tech Deal Department of the Year category for advising leading edge clients in enterprise-defining transactions, such as the firm’s recent work on Alliance Data Systems’ US$4.4 billion sale of Epsilon Data Management, DoorDash’s US$400 million Series F fund round, and Mellanox’s US$6.9 billion sale to NVIDIA.

A California-based team was recognized in the Innovations in Pro Bono category for advising The Ocean Cleanup, an ambitious nonprofit addressing the problem of floating trash problem in the world’s oceans. The team was recently honored with California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year awards by the Daily Journal for their tremendous efforts and dedication to pro bono.

Silicon Valley corporate partner Judith Hasko was named among the exclusive group of Women Leaders in Tech Law for her advice to life sciences companies and investors on technology-based commercial matters, including her recent work on Japan’s Daiichi Sankyo US$6.9 billion global agreement with AstraZeneca to co-develop and commercialize a new antibody drug product for cancer treatment. This is the third time Hasko has received this annual honor, which recognizes California-based lawyers who work at and with technology companies and academia on market-pacing matters.

The firm was also selected as a finalist for Tech Litigation Department of the Year for navigating complex issues in high-stakes and precedent-setting cases, including in recent representations of leading technology companies. The Recorder will announce the final winner of this category in November.
