September 29, 2020
Partners Joe Calabrese and Marvin Putnam selected to the Daily Journal’s prestigious list.

The Daily Journal, California’s legal newspaper of record, has recognized Chair of the firm’s Entertainment, Sports & Media Practice, Joe Calabrese, and Chair of the Litigation & Trial Practice in Los Angeles and Co-Chair of the firm’s Entertainment, Sports & Media Industry Group, Marvin Putnam, as two of the Top 100 Lawyers in California. The annual list recognizes attorneys “who have an impact – on an industry or on the larger society.”

In Calabrese’s profile, the Daily Journal noted his work on behalf of a myriad of entertainment companies including the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Warner Bros. Entertainment, the International Olympic Committee, among others, particularly with regard to contracts in the age of COVID-19.

In his profile, Putnam was recognized for his work for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, in a defamation suit against President Donald Trump concerning outtakes of the former television program The Apprentice. He was also selected for his work defending recording artist Johnny Mathis against liability claims from a worker injured while cleaning windows on Mathis’ home.

Both Calabrese and Putnam have previously been named to this prestigious list.
