In the insolvency litigation space, Zachary has extensive experience representing stakeholders in contested matters and adversary proceedings in major chapter 11 bankruptcies, and in restructuring-related proceedings outside of bankruptcy court. His clients in these matters include debtors, creditors, ad hoc lender groups, and estate fiduciaries.
Zachary also regularly represents national law firms facing malpractice, breach of duty, and other professional liability claims, from pre-suit investigation through litigation in arbitration and court proceedings.
Zachary maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on immigration matters. He received the firm’s Pro Bono Star Award for his successful representation of a Yemeni asylum seeker and prosecution of a related federal mandamus lawsuit.
Zachary is a member of Latham’s Ethics Committee, where he counsels the firm and its attorneys on matters of ethics, professional responsibility, and privilege. He previously served on the firm’s Training & Career Enhancement (TACE) Committee.
Prior to joining Latham, Zachary clerked for Judge Christopher C. Conner (ret.) of the US District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Zachary graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as an executive editor of the Michigan Law Review and received the Craig Spangenberg Oral Advocacy Award.
