Zach Edelman represents companies in high-stakes commercial litigation, particularly regarding complex contracts, founder disputes, and portfolio company matters.

Prior to joining Latham, Zach worked at another international law firm in New York. He previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Carol Bagley Amon of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the Honorable Reena Raggi of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Zach graduated from Harvard Law School, magna cum laude, where he served as an executive editor of the Harvard Law Review and as an executive submissions editor of the Harvard Business Law Review. Zach has published articles regarding insider trading and antitrust issues.

Zach’s experience includes representing:

  • A food and beverage company in an unfair competition dispute with a competitor in the Western District of Texas
  • A financial services firm in New York state court against former members of the firm related to violations of both their contractual (including their restrictive covenants) and fiduciary duties, resulting in a seven-week bench trial*
  • Former directors and officers of a SPAC in Delaware Court of Chancery litigation related to a de-SPAC merger*
  • A private equity firm portfolio company in an earnout dispute in Maryland state court*
  • Founders and early employees of a leading dating app in a multi-billion dollar valuation dispute*
  • A health technology company in a founder’s dispute litigation, involving claims of wrongful termination, retaliation, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and defamation, resulting in a favorable settlement*
