Wonhyong Lee is an associate in the Singapore office of Latham & Watkins.

Wonhyong represents sponsors, developers, and financial institutions on project finance and banking transactions within the energy, infrastructure, and natural resources sectors. Previously, he was an associate in Latham’s New York office, where he worked on project finance, mergers and acquisitions, and banking and private credit transactions.

Wonhyong earned his JD from Yale Law School, where he held senior editorial roles on leading law journals and advised early-stage companies in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Clinic while evaluating startup investment opportunities for the Meng Impact Investment Fund.

Prior to law school, Wonhyong worked in investment management in Korea, focusing on alternative investments including infrastructure, real estate, and private debt. He is a Korean Certified Investment Manager.

Wonhyong’s experience includes:

  • Crossover Wind Project, USA: Advising Cordelio Power in the construction debt and tax equity financing of the 144MW Crossover wind project in Cross County, Arkansas
  • Leon Solar Project, USA: Advising the lenders on their US$298 million construction debt and tax equity bridge financing in connection with Project Leon, a 257MW solar project in Texas, USA
  • Cogentrix Energy HoldCo Financing, USA: Advising Morgan Stanley in connection with the US$1.25 billion refinancing of the Cogentrix power assets after their acquisition by Quantum
  • Residential Solar and Battery Projects, USA: Advising Vision Ridge Partners, LLC in a tax credit financing joint venture in connection with residential solar and battery projects
  • Ector County Solar Plant, USA: Advising Origis Energy on its US$130 million tax equity financing in connection with approximately 145MW photovoltaic solar plant located in Ector County, Texas, USA
  • Airport Facilities, USA: Advising Carlyle Infrastructure Credit Fund in connection with the purchase of US$750 million secured notes offering to finance 28 parking facilities for one of the leading near-airport parking companies in the US
