Will Yao is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. He represents clients in complex intellectual property disputes, with a focus on patent litigation matters.
Will draws from his background in mechanical engineering to litigate intellectual property disputes and advises clients across a wide range of technical fields, including materials manufacturing, medical devices, computer software, and cybersecurity.
Will represents clients before various venues, including the Federal Circuit, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and district courts across the country. He is a member of Latham’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group.
Will maintains an active pro bono practice, representing veterans with disabilities and individuals seeking asylum.
While in law school, Will served as a submissions manager for the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology and was a judicial intern for Magistrate Judge Sherry R. Fallon in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
