William Lane represents borrowers and lenders in secured and unsecured financing transactions across the technology and life sciences industries.

William focuses on technology and healthcare/life sciences companies, with a growing practice advising clients across the AI infrastructure ecosystem. On the borrower side, he represents emerging and established companies, as well as venture capital and private equity sponsors, in connection with their growth, acquisition, and working capital financing needs. His lender side experience includes representing direct lenders, private capital providers, and other alternative lenders in single-asset, sponsor-backed, and structured financings. He advises clients on a wide range of transactions, including:

  • Growth debt, including venture, structured, and lower middle market financings
  • Direct lending and private capital financings
  • Private equity and sponsor-backed financings, including acquisitions, add-ons, and refinancings
  • AI infrastructure financings, including GPU, equipment, and data center–related transactions
  • Structured financings, including SPV and leasing arrangements

  • RTW Investments in its US$75 million royalty funding agreement with Savara
  • Mesoblast Limited in its up to US$125 million refinancing
  • Scientia Vascular in its US$30 million growth term loan facility

Technology and Semiconductor Financings

  • Wolfspeed in:
    • Financing matters in connection with its chapter 11 restructuring and emergence
    • Its US$379 million convertible 1.5 lien senior secured notes issuance
