Tyler Latcham is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice.

Tyler advises clients on patent infringement litigations, US Patent Office proceedings, and intellectual property portfolio management across a range of technologies including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, chemical processes, and battery systems. He has experience at all stages of litigation, from pre-filing investigation through trial.

Tyler maintains an active pro bono practice, representing veterans with disabilities seeking adequate compensation from the federal government.

Tyler earned his JD/MBA from the University of Iowa College of Law and Henry B. Tippie College of Business, where he served as the senior online editor for the Iowa Law Review, and his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Iowa.

Tyler is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Tyler’s experience includes representing:

  • Plaintiff in a medical device patent litigation involving continuous glucose monitoring
  • Plaintiffs in a Hatch-Waxman litigation involving many ANDA filers for the treatment of schizophrenia and major depressive disorder*
  • Plaintiffs in a multi-district Hatch-Waxman litigation involving many ANDA filers for the treatment of multiple sclerosis*
  • Defendants in a multi-district patent litigation involving lithium-ion battery systems*
