Toon Dictus is an associate in the London and Brussels offices of Latham & Watkins and member of the global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Practice.

Toon advises on a broad range of ESG and sustainability matters, in both an advisory and transactional context.

His regulatory practice covers global sustainability frameworks, ranging from climate change to business and human rights. He focuses in particular on regulations flowing from the EU Green Deal, including frameworks in relation to corporate sustainability reporting, circularity, carbon markets, and energy transition.

His transactional practice is focused on advising on environmental, health, and safety (EHS) and ESG aspects of cross-border M&A and other corporate transactions.

Toon co-authored the “ESG Guide: Overview of the ESG Regulatory Landscape” which was published by the Belgian Corporate Governance Committee in 2021 in the context of his involvement in their ESG platform.

Toon is also a part-time practice lecturer in Negotiation & Mediation at KU Leuven, and was a guest lecturer on ESG at Harvard Law School.

Prior to joining Latham, Toon worked as an associate in the corporate and sustainability practices of another international law firm in Brussels and New York.

  • Honeywell International on the environmental and ESG aspects of its acquisition of Johnson Matthey's Catalyst Technologies business, a provider of catalyst manufacturing and licensing of process technology

  • 65 Equity Partners and Inflexion on EHS aspects of their investment in Kee Safety, a global leader in safety systems and solutions
  • TPG Rise Climate in certain sustainability aspects of its acquisition of a stake in SICIT, an Italy-based circular-economy oriented producer of  biostimulants
