Tim Cummings is an associate in the Corporate Department in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins.

Mr. Cummings represents a broad cross-section of the asset management industry on a variety of complex legal and regulatory matters. He assists clients with securities law issues, ongoing compliance, filings and registration matters, and corporate governance. 

He advises a variety of public and private investment vehicles including:

  • Private equity funds
  • Private credit funds
  • Hedge funds
  • Business development companies (BDCs)
  • Robo-advisors
  • Alternative investment funds

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Cummings was an associate in the Investment Management Group at a leading law firm. He also clerked for Judge William S. Stickman IV of the US District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

While in law school, Mr. Cummings was the Associate Managing Editor of the American University Law Review. Before law school, Mr. Cummings was a Research Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School and a middle school science and math teacher.
