Tim Bennett is a Knowledge Management Counsel for the Restructuring & Special Situations Practice in the London office of Latham & Watkins, and is a member of the firm’s Finance Department.

Mr. Bennett has extensive experience of all aspects of restructuring and insolvency law. He specializes in complex cross-border restructuring and insolvency cases, and regularly advises funds, banks, debtors, trustees, and insolvency practitioners.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Bennett practiced in the restructuring and insolvency group at a Magic Circle firm in London for 20 years.

Mr. Bennett’s experience includes advising:

  • The liquidator and special managers of British Steel in relation to the compulsory winding-up, trading liquidation, and subsequent disposal of the group to the Jingye Group
  • The lenders to the Royal Imtech group in its financial restructuring, rights issue, and subsequent insolvency
  • The lenders in relation to the restructuring and subsequent refinancing and rights issue of Promotora de Informaciones, SA (Prisa), the Spanish and Latam media group
  • The lenders to the Innovation Group on its debt-for-equity swap and financial restructuring
  • The lenders to the Frigoglass group in relation to the restructuring of its financial indebtedness and new money injection
  • The lenders to the Havsnas windfarm project (Sweden) in its financial and operational restructuring
