Theresa Staub is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Project Development & Finance Practice.

Theresa advises sponsors, borrowers, and lenders on a range of project finance and development matters across the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on power and renewables.

Theresa’s experience includes representing:

  • Green Sky Capital Limited on the development and financing of its 145 ktpa SAF production facility in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, Egypt*
  • The lenders (including European ECAs) to a joint venture company in connection with the multi-billion development of a battery gigafactory in Sweden* 
  • A large energy company on the development and financing of a 2.2 mtpa green ammonia production facility and export terminal in Saudi Arabia* 
  • A Middle Eastern sponsor on the development of the world’s largest low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia facility*
  • Japanese sponsors on the development and financing of a low-carbon iron metallics facility in Oman*
  • West Burton Energy (WBE), a UK-based independent power producer owned by funds managed by EIG, on its sale of assets related to the West Burton power stations to TotalEnergies for £450 million*
  • African Development Bank (AfDB), Trade and Development Bank, and Finnfund as lenders on the financing of the 35 MW geothermal power project in Menengai, Kenya*
  • The lenders to the consortium of Acciona Aqua, Green Africa and Afriqua Gaz on the €500 million long-term project financing for the seawater desalination project in Casablanca, Morocco*
  • Saudi Aramco on the US$11 billion lease and leaseback deal, involving its Jafurah gas processing facilities, with a consortium of international investors led by funds managed by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), part of BlackRock*
