Talal Fuad Abul* is an associate in the Riyadh office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Entertainment, Sports & Media Practice.

Talal regularly advises key stakeholders in the sports, e-sports, and entertainment sectors with respect to complex transactional, advisory, and regulatory matters, focusing on commercial and corporate transactions, including: 

  • High-value sponsorship and other commercial partnerships
  • The hosting and staging of major international sports and entertainment events
  • The sale and acquisition of media rights and content distribution
  • Strategic joint ventures and acquisitions

Talal’s experience** includes advising:

  • The consortium led by Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises Global Football Group on its acquisition of a majority stake in Rangers Football Club
  • Marv and This Day on their investment in Best Intentions Analytics, the multi-club ownership company that owns Brentford Football Club
  • CVC on its investment in Dream Games (the developer and publisher of globally renowned mobile games Royal Match and Royal Kingdom) as its sole equity partner
  • Bidding nations on their bids for AFC Asian Cup and FIFA tournaments (all aspects of bids, including regulatory and commercial)
  • Qiddiya Investment Company on various commercial, sponsorship, and gaming agreements 
  • Savvy Gaming Group on various sponsorship, technology, and e-sports agreements 
  • The acquirer on the acquisition, followed by a merger, of a group of companies operating in the pharmaceutical sector in Saudi Arabia*
