Steven Van Iwaarden is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins.
Before joining Latham, Steven clerked for Administrative Judge Thomas Harward for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s Hearings Unit in Los Angeles and was a summer associate in the New York office.
Steven received his JD from the University of Michigan Law School. While at Michigan, Steven was the executive editor of Michigan Law Review and the executive legal content editor and a founding member of the Michigan Journal of Law & Society.
An IP team secured a defense win for the Uniswap Foundation in a closely watched DeFi patent case and a Securities and M&A Litigation team obtained a dismissal with prejudice for Pacira BioSciences Inc. in a securities fraud class action.
Latham litigators were recognized for securing a complete dismissal of all claims for Carvana in a stockholder derivative complaint, and for securing a dismissal in full for vaccine maker Sinovac Biotech in a shareholder class action.
