Sean Quigley advises clients on a wide array of state, federal, and international tax disputes.
Sean regularly counsels US and multinational businesses spanning a variety of entity forms, tax-exempt organizations, and high-net-worth individuals at all stages of civil tax controversies, including:
- Issues at the examination level
- Administrative appeals
- US Tax Court litigation
He also advises clients on preparing for a tax controversy before one begins, as well as on pending criminal tax controversies, including clients who have entered the Internal Revenue Service’s Voluntary Disclosure Program.
Beyond his commercial work, Sean also maintains an active pro bono practice, advising nonprofits on their interactions with taxing authorities.
Before law school, Sean served in the US Army for eight years as an enlisted paratrooper and as a Ranger-qualified infantry officer. Mostly stationed in northern Italy, he deployed to both Afghanistan and Latvia. While in law school, he served as a judicial extern for a federal judge.
