Savannah Markel is a finance associate in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins.
Savannah represents asset managers, borrowers, lenders, and other financial institutions on all aspects of secured financing transactions.
She advises clients on transactions involving a broad range of asset-backed securities, including music catalog portfolios, consumer credit card receivables, personal loan receivables, and trade receivables.
Savannah maintains an active pro bono practice, representing individuals seeking asylum and assistance with immigration matters.
While in law school, Savannah served as a Technical Editor and Online Articles Editor for the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, where her article, “Rubbing Salt into the Wound: Environmental Injustices in Prisons and the Difficulties of Obtaining Relief”, was published. Savannah also served as Class Representative for the Arts and Entertainment Law Society, as well as the Community Engagement Representative for the Women’s Leadership Coalition.
