Rafael C. Chapman

Rafael C. Chapman is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins.

Rafael represents private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and both private and public companies on strategic corporate transactions related to investment fund formation, GP-led secondaries, co-investment funds, sponsor governance issues, and other related transactions.

Rafael maintains an active pro bono practice, representing individuals seeking asylum before USCIS and immigration courts.

While in law school, Rafael worked as an intern for the enforcement divisions of the SEC and the CFTC. He also worked full-time for The Legal Aid Society as part of the New York Pro Bono Scholars Program, supporting the federal litigation team in submitting habeas corpus petitions on behalf of detained immigrants in multiple federal district courts.
