Pierre-Axel Aberg is an associate in the London office of Latham and a member of the firm’s Corporate Department.

Pierre-Axel advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, energy transactions, strategic joint ventures, and general corporate matters. 

He trained in the firm’s London office, gaining experience in corporate, competition, and project finance transactions, and has completed a secondment on the M&A team at a FTSE 100 company.

Pierre-Axel’s experience includes advising:

  • The Carlyle Group on its:
    • US$825 million acquisition of Occidental’s entire onshore portfolio in Colombia
    • Sale of Assala Energy, a Gabon-based upstream energy company, to Gabon Oil Company
  • Assala Energy on the:
    • Acquisition of Total Gabon’s remaining equity in the Rabi-Kounga Block, located in southern Gabon, together with ongoing operational advice to Assala
    • Negotiation of seven production sharing contracts with the Republic of Gabon
  • Norsk Hydro ASA on its US$1.11 billion strategic joint venture with Glencore in an alumina refinery in Brazil and its exit from MRN by sale of its shareholding to Glencore
  • TotalEnergies on its €444 million joint venture with Adani Green Energy in a solar energy portfolio in India
  • Centricus Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company, on its US$1 billion business combination with Arqit, a London-based developer of a quantum encryption platform
  • The lenders, including several export credit agencies, in connection with the financing of the Duqm Export Refinery in Oman
  • Leonard Green & Partners on the acquisition of Pure Gym, a UK-based owner and operator of gyms
