Peter Simon is a Corporate Associate at Latham & Watkins and is based in the firm’s San Diego office.

Mr. Simon represents investment banks, private equity sponsors, and public and private companies in a wide range of capital markets and merger and acquisition transactions across various industries, including telecommunications, defense and aerospace, entertainment, retail, life sciences, and technology. These transactions include public and private offerings of debt and equity securities, tender and exchange offers, and domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.  In addition, Mr. Simon counsels clients on SEC reporting and compliance obligations, as well as other corporate governance and securities law matters. 

Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, Mr. Simon worked in the San Diego and New York offices of Am Law 100 firms, where he represented leading investment and commercial banks on cross-border capital markets and finance transactions involving high-yield and investment grade debt securities, equity offerings, leveraged loans, asset-based financings, bridge loans, and mezzanine financings.

Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Simon was a tax accountant in the Alternative Investments practice of KPMG, advising hedge fund and private equity clients.

Mr. Simon maintains an active pro bono practice, representing asylum applicants in partnership with the Casa Cornelia Law Center.
