Patrick Chew is an associate in the Bay Area offices of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the firms Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice.

Patrick represents public and private biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and investors in the life science industry on strategic transactions and intellectual property matters.

His experience includes:

  • Complex licensing and collaborations
  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Services, supply, manufacturing, and other commercial agreements
  • Public and private financings, including initial public offerings, royalty monetization, and debt issuances

Patrick received his law degree from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), where he graduated magna cum laude. Whilst in law school, Patrick was a senior notes editor on the UC Law Journal, and a research assistant to Professor Jeffrey Lefstin on patent law topics. 

Prior to joining Latham, Patrick worked at academic research labs, a medical device startup, and a biopharmaceutical company. Patrick is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).
