Nikhil Kumar is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins.

Mr. Kumar earned his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. In law school, Mr. Kumar served on the Editorial Board of the Virginia Law Review, on the Managing Board of the Virginia Tax Review, and as a Dillard Legal Research and Writing Fellow. Mr. Kumar received his BS in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.

Mr. Kumar served on the firm’s Associates Committee.

  • Onex in numerous acquisitions, including the acquisitions of SMG Holdings and Save-A-Lot
  • BC Partners in connection with the acquisition of Zest Anchors (dba Zest Dental Solutions)
  • Platinum Equity in connection with the acquisitions of Husky Injection Molding and Ball Metalpack and sale of Multi-Color Corporation
  • CoStar Group in connection with its acquisitions of Homes.com and Homesnap
  • Actifio in connection with its acquisition by Google
  • Momenta in connection with its acquisition by Johnson & Johnson
  • Ensco in connection with the acquisition of Atwood Oceanics
  • Akebia Therapeutics in connection with its merger with Keryx Biopharmaceuticals
  • Teladoc in connection with the acquisition of Best Doctors
  • Minority investment by The Carlyle Group and ITT in Ion Investment Group, an Ireland-based developer of electric flow trading, commodity, treasury, and risk management solutions
  • Sale of Sizmek, a provider of digital advertising campaigns and platforms for advertisers and agencies, to Vector Capital
  • Merger between Iberdrola USA and UIL Holdings to create Avangrid, a power and utility company
