Nayantara Ravichandran is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Global Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Nayantara advises on a wide range of EU and UK competition and regulatory matters including cross-border merger control, antitrust, and tech regulation.

She advises clients in diverse industry sectors including technology (hardware and software), financial services, media, water, and energy.

Prior to joining Latham, Nayantara worked as a managing associate in the antitrust and foreign investment practice of a Magic Circle firm.

Nayantara’s experience includes advising:

  • FIS on the merger control aspects of its US$13.5 billion acquisition of Global Payments’ Issuer Solutions business, and of its US$6.6 billion disposal of its stake in Worldpay
  • Bridgepoint and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) on the sale of their shareholdings in Dorna Sports to Liberty Media for €4.2 billion, obtaining unconditional Phase 2 approval from the European Commission
  • AMD on its US$4.9 billion cash and stock transaction purchase of ZT Systems
  • Viasat in obtaining unconditional clearance from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) following a Phase 2 investigation in relation to its US$7.3 billion acquisition of Inmarsat plc*
  • Pennon Group and Bristol Water in obtaining conditional Phase 1 approval from the CMA in relation to Pennon’s completed acquisition of Bristol*
  • Sony Music Entertainment on the CMA’s market study into music and streaming services*  
  • Application Developers Alliance (ADA) on an intervention in appeal proceedings before the Competition Appeal Tribunal brought by Meta against the CMA's decision to prohibit Meta's acquisition of GIPHY*
  • A UK water company in relation to Ofwat’s 2019 price control review and subsequent redetermination proceedings before the CMA*
  • A UK energy company on energy licence modification appeals before the CMA, following Ofgem’s RIIO-2 price control decision*
  • Carrier Global Corporation in the multijurisdictional merger control and foreign investment filings arising out of its acquisition of sole control over Toshiba Carrier Corporation*
  • Caesars Entertainment on its £2.9 billion takeover of online and retail betting operator William Hill, and subsequent sale of William Hill's non-US businesses*
  • Tech clients on the implication of the UK’s Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill*
