Nathan Chael is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins.
Nathan represents clients in complex regulatory matters, litigation, and transactions, with a focus on clean energy projects and environmental issues. He also maintains an active pro bono practice representing individuals in immigration proceedings and veterans’ benefits appeals.
Nathan received his law degree from Yale Law School, where he served as a features editor of the Yale Law Journal and the Yale Journal on Regulation and was named a John Kerry Fellow in foreign policy and a Heyman Federal Public Service Fellow. While in law school, Nathan also served as a law clerk at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and as a summer associate at the firm.
Before joining Latham, Nathan served as an economic policy advisor in the White House and in the United States Senate. He received his BA in philosophy and mathematics, Phi Beta Kappa and with university distinction, and his MS in climate science and policy from Stanford University.
