Margaret “Molly” Babad is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins.

Ms. Babad represents public and private companies across a variety of sectors in internal investigations and litigation.

Ms. Babad maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on criminal appeals and incarcerated individuals.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Babad clerked for Justice John Couriel of the Florida Supreme Court. While in law school, she served as a research assistant in Harvard’s Environmental & Energy Law Program, researching corporate governance and environmental standards.

Prior to law school, Ms. Babad worked as a commercial boat captain, and taught marine science.

Two Latham teams were recognized for getting a summary judgment win for multinational telecom company Telefónica in a busted deal suit involving the client’s operations in Costa Rica, and for securing an important early win for OpenAI in a proposed copyright class action brought by Sarah Silverman and other authors.
