Prior to joining Latham & Watkins’ team, Mohammed worked in the Saudi Royal Court (Royal Diwan) as a legal specialist for five years.

Through his work there, Mohammed acquired a deep understanding of the policy-making process and adopted procedures in the Government Center.

Mohammed’s experience includes:

  • Advising on litigation matters in real estate development and administrative law*
  • Various legal consultations in different aspects of the law for the Royal Court of Saudi Arabia*
  • Reviewing and editing the first draft of some new statutes, regulations, and controls prior to presenting it to the Council of Ministers, some of which are confidential*
  • Drafting Royal Orders, High Orders, other legal instruments, and correspondence relating to the work of the Legal Department of the Royal Court of Saudi Arabia*
  • Supporting the decision-making process of the Royal Court of Saudi Arabia by conducting thorough legal research and studies*
  • Preparing a baseline legal assessment in relation to signing an international agreement that covers all aspects in relation to analyzing the Kingdom’s government obligations thereunder
  • Advising on an environmental contamination risk with a rehabilitation cost estimated to be around SAR1 billion in relation to one-of-a-kind major transaction
  • Advising on structuring a settlement agreement for an international client for SAR900 million and negotiating with the counterparty’s legal team
  • Partaking in workshops and negotiation sessions with the client’s team in relation to a major commitment on behalf of the Kingdom’s government
  • Providing legal support in public-private partnership projects for ZATCA
  • Advising confidential clients in drafting the bylaws of new entities in different fields
  • Representing a client on a claim against a former employee for leaking confidential information in front of the Public Prosecution
  • Advising new investors in establishing industrial projects in special economic zones in relation to the applicable laws and regulations and providing guidance through the required procedures
  • Advising a number of clients on energy-related laws and regulations applicable in the Kingdom
