Mike Foley is an associate in the Boston office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department. Mike advises clients in high-stakes commercial disputes, including complex insurance recovery matters. He represents public and private companies across industries in both state and federal courts. He brings strong research, writing, and analytical skills to each matter, leveraging his diverse litigation background to develop effective strategies for clients.
Prior to joining Latham, Mike was an associate at another leading US law firm, where he focused on insurance, reinsurance, and intellectual property litigation. While there, he also spent over six months seconded to the in-house legal department of a global, publicly traded technology company.
Mike served for two years as a law clerk to US District Judge Margaret R. Guzman of the District of Massachusetts. During his clerkship, he was a member of the First Circuit’s Law Clerks’ Subcommittee on Workplace Conduct. He also recently taught an undergraduate constitutional law course at Lasell University in Newton, Massachusetts.
Prior to law school, Mike spent three years as a middle and high school teacher and athletic coach at St. Sebastian’s School in Needham, Massachusetts.
