Marifiel Gonzalez is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins.

Ms. Gonzalez represents public and private companies in both domestic and cross-border transactions. She advises clients on a wide range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing transactions, and public offerings. 

As part of her pro bono practice, Ms. Gonzalez advises survivors in the Domestic Violence Clinic under the D.C. Volunteer Lawyers Project.

Before joining Latham, Ms. Gonzalez served as a judicial intern for Judge Loren A. Smith of the US Court of Federal Claims. She also worked as a legal secretary and as a patent paralegal for two large multinational law firms. 

Ms. Gonzalez earned her JD from the Washington and Lee University School of Law, where she served as the programs editor for the German Law Journal. At W&L, she participated in the Trust and Estates Legal Clinic, drafting wills, trusts, and medical directives for underserved local residents. She received her BS in General Biology from the University of Maryland, where she also minored in Sustainability and Classical Mythology.
