Lorenzo Sacco is an associate in the Brussels office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Global Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Mr. Sacco advises clients on all aspects of EU competition law and represents them before the European Commission and the Italian Competition Authority. He advises clients on behavioral antitrust issues and defends them in investigations as well as, as necessary, in Italian courts. He also advises clients on merger control matters.

His experience covers several industry sectors including social media, broadcasting, automotive, and technology.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Sacco completed his traineeship and worked as an associate at an international law firm in Milan.

  • Tenneco, a designer, manufacturer, and distributor of automotive ride control and emission control products and systems, on obtaining merger control clearances for its US$7 billion acquisition by Apollo Global Management
  • CVC Capital Partners on obtaining merger control clearances for its €1.9 billion sale of Sisal, Italy’s leading online gaming operator, to Flutter Entertainment
  • Bain Capital on obtaining merger control clearances for its acquisition of F.I.S. Fabbrica Italiana Sintetici, a manufacturer of active ingredients for the pharmaceutical industry
  • The Carlyle Group on the global merger control aspects of various transactions in the fashion, food ingredients, and industrial automation sectors
  • A major technology company in ongoing abuse of dominance proceedings by the European Commission (EC)
  • A major technology company on various strategic regulatory issues in connection with the EC’s Digital Markets Act Proposal
  • A media company in a cartel investigation by the Italian Competition Authority*
  • A leading digital platform active in the e-mobility sector in an abuse of dominance complaint before the Italian Competition Authority against the incumbent operator*
