During law school, Lingzi served as a notes and comments editor on the Houston Law Review and a judicial intern for Judge Gray H. Miller of the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Before attending law school, she helped energy companies obtain environmental permits as a regulatory specialist. She also conducted academic research in graduate school and published her work in the field of molecular microbiology.
