Lia Barrett is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins.

Lia handles complex regulatory issues and litigation for a range of clients.

She maintains an active pro bono practice that has often included representing children in custody and special education matters.

She returns to Latham after clerking for Judge Scott M. Matheson, Jr., of the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Lia received her JD from Harvard Law School, graduating cum laude. She also has a master’s in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, which she attended on a full merit scholarship. While in law school, Lia was editor-in-chief of the Harvard Environmental Law Review and taught environmental law to undergraduates as a faculty member at Boston College. Before law school, she was a policy analyst at the US Department of Transportation.
