Ms. Waller advises clients in corporate transactions on employment-related matters, and counsels employers on a wide range of employment-law topics.

Prior to joining Latham, Ms. Waller worked at another leading law firm in Chicago.


Ms. Waller’s practice includes:

  • Conducting labor and employment-related due diligence in corporate transactions, including diligence on wage and hour matters, reductions in force, worker classifications, compliance with hiring and other employment practices, employment policies, restrictive covenants, labor relations, and pending and threatened labor and employment-related proceedings
  • Counseling employers on various employment matters including hiring practices, equal employment opportunity practices, accommodations in the workplace, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, training, discipline, employee exemptions from overtime pay, independent contractor classifications, background checks, leaves of absence, restrictive covenants, and wage and hour matters including overtime obligations, wage deductions, and paid sick leave obligations
  • Advising employers on a variety of employment laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Crediting Reporting Act, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, the National Labor Relations Act, and other federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Drafting and advising on employment agreements, offer letters, independent contractor agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, informational disclosures, WARN Act notices, performance improvement plans, cease and desist letters, employee handbooks, and employment policies
