Krupa K. Patel is an associate in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins.
Krupa received her law degree from Harvard Law School, graduating cum laude, and her PhD in political philosophy from Harvard Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. While attending law school, Krupa was managing editor for the Harvard Human Rights Journal and article editor for the Harvard Law and Policy Review. She served as a research assistant on issues of contract law, administrative law, constitutional law, racial inequalities, and democratic theory.
Krupa was also co-chair of the Shatter the Ceiling Committee of the Women’s Law Association and of Harvard Minorities and Philosophy, and she participated in the Human Rights Clinic and HLS Advocates for Human Rights and volunteered for Dear Future Colleague, a mentorship program for first-generation and low-income aspiring graduate students.
Prior to beginning full-time at the firm, Krupa completed a PILI Graduate Fellowship with the MacArthur Justice Center and internships with the ACLU of Southern California, Towards Justice, and Rights and Security International. She had also been a summer associate at the firm’s Chicago office. As a graduate student, she researched and taught undergraduates on topics in political philosophy.
Krupa received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she was a James Scholar and Humanities Scholar. She graduated from UIUC magna cum laude with a triple major in philosophy (highest distinction), English (high distinction), and psychology.
