Kenza Alexandra Bentaibi is a dual-qualified (England & Wales and France) associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Project Development & Finance Practice.

Kenza advises borrowers, sponsors and lenders (including development finance institutions and commercial banks) on the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Prior to joining Latham, Kenza was a member of the project finance team in both the Paris and London offices of a leading international law firm.  
 

Kenza’s experience includes advising on:

  • UK Infrastructure Bank and BBVA in connection with the up to £300 million capital expenditure bridge facility for Envision AESC UK Plant 2 Limited in connection with its gigafactory in Sunderland, UK
  • EIB in respect of the US$1 billion participation in the US$5 billion expansion financing of its up to 42-GWh gigafactory and recycling and storage facility
  • The sponsors, led by TotalEnergies, on several ECAs’ US$20 billion financing to develop a Mozambique LNG project, which Project Finance International recognized as its 2020 “Global Multilateral Deal of the Year”
  • Saudi Aramco on the construction arrangements relating to its CCS project in Saudi Arabia
  • The borrower and the sponsors context of the development and financing of the world’s largest baseload renewable energy power plant using hydrogen technology, located in French Guiana (Hydrogen Deal of the Year 2021)*
  • The concessionaire in the context of a first-of-its-kind Bus Rapid Transit project in Senegal*
  • The borrower and its shareholders in the successful restructuring of the equity and senior financing of the Gaziantep Health Campus PPP Project in Turkey*
  • A sovereign entity in the context of the ECA-covered financing of a ship repair yard project*
  • A bidding consortium for the award of the Amman-Aqaba water desalination and conveyance project in Jordan*
  • The concessionaire on all aspects of the 30-year concession granted by Agencia Nacional de Infraestructura for the development of a new public use maritime terminal in Colombia (IJGlobal Awards 2021 — Transport Deal of the Year)*
