Katharine Peña serves as Senior Assistant General Counsel - Conflicts & Ethics at the firm, where she manages the Conflicts & Ethics and Compliance & Intake Counsel teams across the firm’s US offices.
In this role, she provides comprehensive legal and policy advice on matters of ethics and professional conduct, including lateral clearances, new business inquiries, client-provided engagement terms, and the identification and resolution of ethical conflicts and business conflicts of interest. Additionally, she works with the global team responsible for the firm’s business intake procedures and supports all Latham offices with respect to associated compliance and risk management issues.
Katharine plays a key role in developing and updating firm policies in response to evolving case law and strategic objectives, engaging in preparation, training, and implementation.
