Karla Mardueño represents clients in complex commercial disputes, white collar investigations, securities, and fintech matters.

Karla draws on her extensive experience with all stages of civil litigation to advise clients across industries and in both state and federal courts, on matters involving:

  • US Securities and Exchange Commission investigations in the digital asset and cryptocurrency industry
  • Internal and government investigations relating to public company accounting and disclosure issues
  • Breach of contract disputes
  • Fraudulent transfer claims
  • Fiduciary duty claims
  • Other complex business torts

Karla also maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on immigration, education, and guardian ad litem matters.

Before joining Latham, Karla was a Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Fellow at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), served as a judicial extern for Judge Andrea R. Wood of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, worked in the Howard Child Welfare/Family Justice Clinic, and served as a White House intern to Michelle Obama.
