Kara E. Chung is a corporate associate in the Houston office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice.

Ms. Chung advises clients on a broad range of matters, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and complex commercial agreements.

Prior to joining Latham, Ms. Chung was an energy transactions associate in the Houston office of a leading global law firm. 

Ms. Chung’s experience includes advising: 

  • SUSI Partners, a Swiss-based sustainable energy infrastructure fund manager, in its agreement with SMT Energy to jointly develop, own and operate multiple battery energy storage systems in the United States*
  • Antero Midstream Corporation in its purchase of natural gas and compression assets from Crestwood Equity Partners*
  • ARM Energy Holdings in its acquisition of Monument Pipeline from affiliates of NextEra Energy Partners* 
  • Clearfork Midstream, a portfolio company of EnCap Flatrock Midstream, in its acquisition of Azure Midstream Energy, a portfolio company of Energy Spectrum Capital*
  • Moda Midstream in its US$3 billion sale of Moda Ingleside Energy Center and other assets to Enbridge*
  • Funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management in the acquisition of a majority interest in Total Operations and Production Services from Black Bay Energy Capital*
  • Hartree Partners in its acquisition of AMID Crude Oil Storage from Third Coast Midstream*
  • Antero Resources Corporation in a US$220 million volumetric production payment transaction with an affiliate of JP Morgan*
