Kamal Dalal is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Structured Finance, Derivatives, Equities & Structured Products, and Environmental, Social & Governance Practices.

Ms. Dalal advises clients on a range of structured finance transactions with a focus on credit solutions. She has experience in both traditional and synthetic securitization, capital relief trades, repackaging transactions, supply chain and trade receivables financings, working across a range of asset classes, including corporate debt, SME and consumer loans, merchant cash advances, point-of-sale receivables, commercial, residential, and equity release mortgages. Her clients include traditional banks and alternative finance providers, including fintech lenders, funds, asset managers, pension funds, and insurers, as well as corporates.

She also has experience in advising clients on regulatory matters, including ESG considerations, and co-authored the UK chapters of the "Chambers & Partners Securitisation 2021" and "2023 Global Practice Guides."

Ms. Dalal's representative experience includes advising:

  • Various US asset managers, Canadian investors, and UK insurance providers on investments in synthetic risk transfer transactions and capital relief trades in respect of portfolios of corporate loans across several geographies
  • A global investment bank on arranging multiple series of repackaged notes referencing corporate debt securities with swap overlays for US end-investors
  • A global investment bank as arranger and investor in a securitization of a portfolio of Spanish and Irish equity release mortgage
  • A global investment bank as arranger of a securitization of lease receivables in connection with the financing of European hyperscale data centres
  • Several leading UK SME lending platforms in connection with their accreditation under the UK’s Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) and Recovery Loan Scheme (RLS) and the implementation of associated funding programs
  • A US asset manager in structuring and investing in the securitization of a portfolio of Spanish SME loans backed by the Pan-European Guarantee Fund in response to the COVID-19 pandemic
  • A global investment bank as lender in relation to an international supply chain financing of automotive and other industrial part
  • A European trading and logistics firm on various receivables financing and inventory trading solutions
  • A fintech company as originator of a securitization of a forward-flow portfolio of merchant cash advances made available to SMEs on an e-commerce platform
