Kailash Gupta is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins. Mr. Gupta is a member of the firm’s Finance Department and the Project Development & Finance Practice.

Mr. Gupta represents financial institutions and private equity sponsors, corporate and mezzanine sponsors, private debt funds, and other companies, in connection with all phases of the development and financing of power (including wind, solar, and gas fired power plants), oil and gas, LNG, battery storage, and other infrastructure projects. Mr. Gupta’s experience includes a focus on commercial loans, syndicated loans, private placements, and other direct lending arrangements.

  • Lenders in a corporate-level revolver in connection with the early-stage development of community solar panel sites including 93 in existence, located in New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Massachusetts, Maine, and Pennsylvania
  • Note purchasers in connection with the private placement offering of US$500 million of senior secured notes for a portfolio of over 370 utility scale and distributed generation renewable energy projects located throughout the United States; the offering was awarded Project Bond Deal of the Year for 2019 by Power Finance & Risk
  • Lenders in a holdco refinancing of a portfolio of solar projects located in California
  • Term lenders in connection with holdco financing of an acquisition of an interest in portfolio of wind projects
  • A leading Canadian independent power producer in connection with various transactions, including the debt and tax equity financings of the Flat Top 200 MW wind project and Foard City 350 MW wind project, each located in Texas
  • Ares EIF in the debt tax equity financing in connection with the construction of the Aviator 525 MW wind project located in Texas
