Josh Ji is a litigation associate in the Complex Commercial Litigation and Intellectual Property practice groups.
Josh represents a wide range of clients in high-stakes litigation—with an emphasis on disputes involving breach of contract, business torts, intellectual property, false / misleading advertising, and unfair competition. He has defended multiple actions with over one billion dollars in controversy and routinely deals with nine-figure actions. He also handles trademark development and enforcement for some of the most recognizable brands in the world.
Prior to joining Latham, Josh was an associate at another leading international law firm and served as a judicial extern to Judge Josephine L. Staton (US District Judge, CD Cal). Josh was a Dean’s Merit Scholar and graduated with honors from the UC Irvine School of Law, where he was co-editor-in-chief of the Law Review, a teaching assistant for the Lawyering Skills program, and a research assistant to Vice Dean Christopher Whytock. Josh received the Faculty Award for obtaining the highest grade in the Civil Procedure course, and his Law Review student note has been cited by American Jurisprudence and the US District Court for the SDNY.
Josh serves as a global leader for Latham’s Asian & Middle Eastern Lawyers Group and as a member of the firm’s Mentoring Committee. In addition to maintaining an active pro bono practice, Josh has served the community in many roles, including the following:
