A Latham Securities and M&A Litigation team secured the dismissal with prejudice of a multibillion-dollar shareholder class action against Docusign related to the software company's post-pandemic growth prospects.
Despite a downward trend in securities case filings over the past three years, Latham & Watkins LLP has remained one of the most active law firms on the defense side, taking over the top spot from Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP, according to reports released by Lex Machina.
The Latham team, led by defense attorneys Michele D. Johnson and Peter A. Wald, secured a winning jury verdict in July for NextGen Healthcare in what they call a “unique and groundbreaking case.”
Rare and precedent-setting trial marks first time a “holder’s claim” has gone to trial in nearly 100 years.
