John Doyle is an associate in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Litigation & Trial Department.
John advises companies, boards, and individuals on a wide range of litigation matters, including criminal and civil fraud, accounting and auditing standards, potential securities law violations, regulatory compliance, and consumer protection.
In particular, John counsels clients regarding internal and government-facing investigations as well as enforcement actions brought by regulators and government agencies, including:
- Department of Justice (DOJ)
- Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
- Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA)
- Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB)
- State Attorneys General
In addition, John regularly advises clients in connection with cross-border mergers and acquisitions, in particular regarding the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and related anti-corruption compliance programs and internal controls.
Prior to joining Latham, John served as a military prosecutor in the US Navy JAG Corps, where he tried multiple cases to verdict in the military court system.
John maintains an active pro bono practice, representing students with special needs, military service members, and asylum seekers.
