Joe Previti is an associate in the Austin office of Latham & Watkins.
Joe represents clients in intellectual property disputes, primarily patent litigation. Prior to joining Latham full time, Joe was a summer associate in the Chicago office.
Joe received his JD at Northwestern Law, where he graduated cum laude. While in law school, Joe was co-president of the IP Law Society, a notes editor for the Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property, and an active mentor for junior students. He also served as a teaching assistant in patent law, and worked as a judicial extern in the Northern District of Illinois.
Joe received his bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Baylor University, where he graduated magna cum laude, competed on the mock trial team, and received an award for being an outstanding student in electrical and computer engineering research.
Prior to law school, Joe worked at a Houston law firm as a patent prosecutor, focusing primarily on technology areas including wireless telecommunications (including SEP technology), semiconductors, and medical devices.
Joe maintains an active pro bono practice, volunteering at naturalization clinics and representing individuals seeking asylum, both in partnership with American Gateways.
