Jessica Barragan is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Litigation & Trial Department. 

Jessica represents public and private companies and individuals in complex civil matters in federal and state courts, from motion practice and discovery through trial and appeal. She represents financial institutions, corporations, and individuals in white collar criminal matters, as well as in government and internal investigations. She maintains an active pro bono practice.

Prior to joining Latham, Jessica clerked for the Honorable Andrew L. Carter, Jr. of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York and for the Honorable Myrna Pérez of the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She previously worked as an associate in the litigation department at a major international law firm in New York City.

Jessica graduated from Columbia Law School, where she was a senior editor of the Columbia Law Review and an intern for the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.

  • A Latin American financial services group and its subsidiary in connection with the coordinated resolution of parallel DOJ and SEC investigations under the FCPA*
  • A Latin American energy company in connection with an internal investigation involving compliance, governance, and reputational risk matters*
  • An individual client in a federal criminal enforcement matter involving regulatory disclosure and compliance issues*
  • An individual client in an SEC inquiry resulting in dismissal of charges*
  • A leading global live-streaming platform in securities litigation matters*
  • A global financial institution in securities litigation matters involving investor and disclosure-related claims*
